چکیده
Nowadays, the majority of marine debris consists microplastic particles. For that reason, pollution in environments and its potential impacts on animals has been extensively studied. This study was developed to investigate bioindicator Pterois miles (Bennett, 1828) for monitoring pollution. A totally, 21 individuals were sampled from Iskenderun Bay, northeastern Mediterranean Sea April 2022, their gastrointestinal tracts examined occurrence. Mean abundance found as 2.06±1.88 particles/individual positive samples 1.47±1.83 total samples. The detection rate estimated 71%. In terms color, black (55%), blue (32%), red (10%) brown (3%) particles detected. Among all, extracted fiber shape (93%) followed by fragments (7%). high frequency this showed specie could be used monitor environments.

The complete mitochondrial genome of the devil firefish Pterois miles (Bennett, 1828) (Scorpaenidae).
The complete mitochondrial genome of the devil firefish Pterois miles (Bennett, 1828) was obtained using next generation sequencing approaches. The genome sequence was comprised of 16,497 bp exhibiting the standard vertebrate mitochondrial gene arrangement. Regions of gene overlap, tRNA lengths, as well as start and stop codons were similar to those observed in closely related families (i.e. Se...
متن کاملInvestigation of microplastic contamination in the gastrointestinal tract of some species of caught fish from Oman Sea
Background and Objective: Marine pollution is growing due to human activities. Continuous increase in plastic production and poor management of plastic waste resulted in a significant increase of this contaminant in aquatic environments. This in turn led to the widespread presence of Microplastics (MPs) with a size of less than 5mm. Materials and Methods: In this study, frequency, distribution...
متن کاملNeustonic microplastic and zooplankton in the North Western Mediterranean Sea.
Neustonic microplastic and zooplankton abundance was determined in the North Western Mediterranean Sea during a summer cruise between July 9th and August 6th 2010, with a break between July 22 th and 25th due to a strong wind event. Ninety percent of the 40 stations contained microplastic particles (size 0.3-5mm) of various compositions: e.g., filaments, polystyrene, thin plastic films. An aver...

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
Species distribution modelling of invasive alien species; Pterois miles for current distribution and future suitable habitats
The present study aims to predict the potential geographic distribution and future expansion of invasive alien lionfish (Pterois miles) with ecological niche modelling along the Mediterranean Sea. The primary data consisted of occurrence points of P. miles in the Mediterranean and marine climatic data layers were collected from global databases. All the used models run 100% su...
